ESTABLISHMENT OF GREEN SCHOOL

February 2012, Daejayon visited Division of City Schools in Quezon, Philippines.
Division of City Schools is the organization same as the Office of Education in Korea.

And we could meet Dr.Corazon C.Rubio, the director of Division.

When we visited the science high school, many staffs said “If the activity of Daejayon is really important, you should meet Dr.Rubio who is a general director of the division. And persuade her. If she agreed, all of elementary, middle and high schools in Quezon will join in Daejayon.”
As much as to say, Dr.Rubio is responsible for elementary, middle and high schools of Quezon City.

Dr.Rubio welcomed members of Daejayon.
She is interested in environment and she knows the seriousness of environmental problems.
So she greeted us and said “the organization like Daejayon is very important to schools in Quezon City.”

Daejayon introduced the activities focused on Green School.

Like everyone did, Dr.Rubio also was amazed by the activity of Daejayon by university students.
And she has interested in not only activities of Green School but Green World.

Dr.Rubio said “I want to meet all of university students who do this wonderful activity.”
She wanted to sign an MOU with every member of Daejayon who moves in one mind.

We gave the gift (eco- friendly soap and air refresher) and finished the first meeting.
In the next day, we visited the Dr.Rubio’s office again.

At the meeting for two days, Dr.Rubio said “I made time even though I have tight schedules because I know how much important the activity of Daejayon is.”

And she asked us “I wish this activity will be joint worked as quickly as possible. Could you hold an environmental seminar at Science Interactive Center in early March for environmental leaders and Green School students of Philippines?”
And she said the activity of Green World is also impressive and she asked if we could carry out environmental activity in Quezon City.

She requested all activity of Green School of Daejayon, and she wants to proceed as soon as possible.

She is signing an MOU.

We hope that the activity between Daejayon and Division of City Schools of Quezon will carry out soon through continuous exchange. And through this, we hope all of students in Quezon would be produced as environmental leaders.

Many students and other people don’t realize why we study and move for environment. This is because they don’t realize the seriousness of environmental problems.
Even, through this meeting with Division of education of Quezon City, many students and other people will realize the seriousness of environmental problem and join in environmental activity soon.

Daejayon will also make an effort to protect environment with worldwide global environmental leaders.
