GREEN CAMPUS ACTIVITY

“2011 Green Campus Global Forum” was held at Myeongjin-dang in Myongji University at Yongin.
About 500 university students and the interested attended this forum.

Daejayon organized it and Gyeonggi Green Environment Center and Korea National Assembly Environment Forum and Myongji University hosted.

Especially in this forum, there were many internal and external environmentalists, presidents of company and members of NGO such as Park Joo-sun the chairman of Korea National Assembly Environment Forum, Hans Ulrich Seidt the German ambassador in Korea, Yoo Byeong-jin the president of Myongji University, Lee Hui-cheol the director of atmospheric environment in capital area, An Dae-hui the president of Gyeonggi Green Environment Forum, Je Jong-gil the laboratory chief of City and Nature Laboratory.
Also Khong Sam Nuon the vice-minister from Ministry of Environment of Cambodia and Dr. Ric G. ENRIQUEZ the director of the Human Resource Development Service from Philippines Ministry of Environment visited Korea to attend this forum.

The president of Daejayon said “I feel keenly that we need one conscious environmentalist like El Gore rather than a hundred eco-friendly buildings and that made me hold 2011 Green Campus Global Forum today to produce global environmental leaders.”

Dr. Kim Pil-joo the president of Global Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture and the president of Food Sharing Movement Association also attended.
Through a keynote address, she said “Not only for the direct human sufferings, the impact on the nature, especially on the biodiversity will be immeasurable and the consequences will bring treacherous impact on the livelihood of future generation.”
Furthermore, she said “It is your future at stake, Dear Green Generation! Be aware and prepare to preserve! There is no limit to exercise your leadership in imagination and contribution,” giving a cheer all of the students who participated in it and members of Daejayon.

Moreover, that day the president of Daejayon received the award certificate of Minister of Environment.

Park Joo-sun the chairman of Korea National Assembly Environment Forum said, “Now is the time for university students to carry out practical environmental movements and have an environmental association throughout the world.”

Furthermore, Yoo Byeong-jin the president of Myongji University said “we need to explore the role of the global environmental leader” and stated the meaning of this forum.

Like this, now the most important green leader is “university students!”

Many university students attended this forum, so we could take a meaningful time!
Additional events accompanied with a panel exhibition and photo zone and so on.

University students and Daejayon are at the central in global environmental movement.
