GREEN CAMPUS ACTIVITY

How is recycling of your campus and office?
Nowadays, most people think it is well doing.
But until now, there are many building not do recycling.

One of them is Kookmin University!
So The Green(an environmental club of Kookmin University) carried out a campaign to settle recycling practice.

It is “Making Recycling Kookmin Students” project!

Pre-investigation is essential before starting project!

Here is in front of Bukakgwan building.
There are one trash bin and one waste paper box.

Next to a vending machine, there is only one trash bin.

There are almost no recycling bins.
These are the only recycling bins in campus.

There were recycling bins in school cafeteria, but they were closed during vacation.

And we did a survey for students and faculty.

Total 112 people did survey.
The question was ‘Do you think the condition of trash bin in campus should be improved?’.
89 persons answered yes, and 23 persons answered no.
Most people agreed to set more recycling bins.

After having a few meetings with Kookmin University facility staffs, we figured out the facility team has had a plan to set recycling bins.
So we decided to set more recycling bins in Bukakgwan, Gyeongsanggwan and Bogjigwan buildings.
After that, it will be expanded.

Recycling bin has arrived!

Green Mate, the environmental club of Kwangwoon University, came to support!
This is the power of KGCAUS network!

And we attached recycling stickers on the bin!

And we attached a poster ‘how to recycle’.

Finally, we set 10 sets in Bukakgwan, 1 set in Gyeongsanggwan and 6 sets in Bogjigwan buildings.

These recycling bins are managed by continuous monitoring of university and ‘The Green’.
And in September, in order to encourage recycling, we carried out campaign in campus.

It was carried out during the school festival in October.
This time, we made eco-friendly air-freshener.

In the second campaign, we gave a chance to make eco-friendly air-freshener and take photo shoot after the quiz.

Lastly, we posted the activities of ‘The Green’ during this year.
The activity of 2013 is completed!

The recycling bin campaign is done successfully, so the University planned to expand recycling bins.
It is the meaningful moment that activity of ‘The Green’ has.

English Newspaper and Kookmin journal of Kookmin University issued the activity of the club.

We wish good activities like this continued in next year too!
