GREEN CAMPUS ACTIVITY

Daejayon visited to “Indonesia” and conducted various activities.
These activities were based on the MOU on Green School, Green Campus and Green World which were signed with Education department of Jakarta last May. 

Daejayon also held a forum at UI [University of Indonesia] and IPB [Bogor Agricultural University] in 2011.
Since then, Daejayon has kept carrying out many activities, interacting with many university students who are interested in environment.

Furthermore, Daejayon met students who participated in “Gyeonggi-do Green Campus International Forum” hosted by GyeongGi-do Association for Green Campus Initiative.

Daejayon and university students of Indonesia had gathered and held the Launching Ceremony of International Green Campus Association of University Students as well.

Finally, Daejayon branch in Indonesia has established!

Many students had gathered to participate in the activities of Daejayon.
They had a heated discussion on Green Campus and made a plan for the activity in Green School, Green Campus and Green World.

They were very enthusiastic because all the students has lots of interest in environment.

It is expected that the activity of Daejayon branch in Indonesia would be great.
Their ambitions are overflowing because they are university students!
During summer vacation, the students of Indonesia branch planted mangrove trees, did clean-up campaign, held the Eco-League and Green School.

Doing environmental activity in Indonesia is very important.
If you thought of environment of Indonesia, you might understand the reason.

Indonesia consists of more than 17,000 islands.

Indonesia could lose about 2,000 islands by 2030 due to climate change and Island countries like Saint Lucia, Fiji and the Bahamas would likely disappear," he told Reuters.

Rachmat Witoelar said studies by UN experts showed that sea levels were expected to rise about 89 centimetres in 2030 which meant that about 2,000 mostly uninhabited small islets would be submerged.

Thus, now university students must do something for the better future of Indonesia.

The most important thing is “changing the consciousness on environment”, so Daejayon let youth know the importance of environmental activities through Green School in Indonesia who will face the unexpected backlash of climate. Also, through various environmental campaigns, they had time to think more about the environment.
