In 2013, DAEJAYON is practicing ‘Standby Power ZERO KOREA Campaign’ for reducing standby power being wasted.

‘Standby Power ZERO CAMPUS Campaign’ consists of three parts.
① 3Actions for ‘Standby Power ZERO CAMPUS Campaign’
②‘Standby Power ZERO CAMPUS Campaign’
③PR(Public relations) about result of activity.

Firstly, Young Nature members gave how to reduce standby power to people by attaching posters that explain about ‘Standby Power ZERO CAMPUS Campaign’ in Hong-Ik University.

Total 20 posters are attached in six buildings.

Now, shall we go to reduce standby power in Hong-Ik University?

Action 1 is ‘Using Multiple-tap’.

Young Nature attached stickers to encourage students to unplug when they do not use computer.

Next!
Young Nature attached a special sticker which changes color up to the temperature.
It means when a monitor is used for a long time, it gives off heat and then the sticker’s color is changed.

Young Nature attached the sticker to monitors, hand dryers, copy machines etc.

Next is ‘Setting up Timer socket’
Timer socket is a smart item used for shutting down electric power during anytime you want by setting the day and time when you don’t want to use.

Now, this water purifier will be turned off at night and will be turned on again at morning.
In this way, by setting up timer sockets to 21 water purifiers, total 62,496kwh can be saved per year in Hong-Ik University.

Action 3 is ‘Campus Lights off Campaign.’

During September, Young Nature tried to find vacant classroom and turned off the lights consistently in Hong-Ik University.

And they attached warning stickers, saying “when you leave, please turn off the lights” beside the switch.

They also did ‘Standby Power ZERO CAMPUS Campaign’ in campus.

One of the activities in their campaign is ‘Flip the Cards Game’.
The card has two sides. The front side reads ‘Standby Power Full Campus’ and the other side reads ‘Standby Power Zero Campus’. If participant can flip over many cards more than staff of Young Nature during time and make card show ‘Standby Power Zero Campus’, participant can win in this game.

This is another game named ‘Let’s save standby power in my house!’
If someone gets the right answer in environmental quiz about standby power, he or she can receive a prize.

Touch For The Green Campus!
This is ‘Photo Zone’.

After finishing all the activities, it’s time to promote ‘2013 activity result’!

Young Nature distributed leaflets explaining their activity to Hong-Ik University students.

All of the Young Nature members took no little pain and made an effort to save standby power in Hong-Ik University during 2013.

Young Nature of Hong-Ik University will take a powerful step over again to make Green Campus in 2014.
And DAEJAYON will also cheer and support Young Nature all the way!
