Standby power is electricity used by appliances and equipment while they are switched off or not performing their primary function.
Did you know that huge amount of electricity is wasted because of standby power?
Due to the standby power, 500 billion won [470 million dollars] are thrown out every year.
Therefore standby power, also called vampire power, vampire draw, phantom load, or leaking electricity.
If we unplug and turn off a multifunctional code carefully, we can reduce 11% of electric consumption.
So Daejayon has carried out standby power ZERO KOREA! campaign.

With Green Promise, environmental club of Inha University, students gathered to save standby power in a dormitory of Inha University.

For the right use of energy in dormitory as well as campus, students were explaining about standby power and giving students energy conservation stickers.

Seeing energy conservation stickers attached in campus and dormitory, please remember water-saving, unplugging, turning off a multifunctional code and switch off.

Thanks to students of Inha University for participating a campaign and agreeing to reduce standby power.
