Introduction of Green World

Hello everybody!

We are "Green Nanumi'(It means people who share green),

ICLEI University Supporters team 21!

We proceeded the campaign with 8th agenda which is the last agenda.

'A City where Healthy and Happy community is Realized'

Then, how can we make a healthy and happy community?

What is our team's conclusion?

It is

"If we want to make healthy and happy community,

we have to make healthy and happy environment!"

So we made two choices!

Do you wonder what these mean?

Let's go to the campaign which 'Green Nanumi' team proceeded!

"Campaign : Bye Paper Cup, Buy Tumbler"

Wow! The name of campaign is so nice! isn't it?

This campaign was proceeded to reduce paper cup usage!

So, We gave tea and beverage to people who were coming with tumblers

and explained our panels, received the leaf signature!

First! Let's explain the campaign effect to all people!

Even just with the panel, everyone can understand this.

One person uses 500 paper cups per year!

And average usage of Korea per year is 13.5 billions!

As a result, there are many environmental destruction and pollution.

Our word is getting sick, now.

So we should try to use reusable products,

not disposables!

Second, We gave tea and beverage to people who had

reusable products like tumbler, mug cup.

Many citizens participated the campaign!

Use tumbler, get warm coffee or tea,

save environment, become healthy!

WoW!

Third, we'll also keep on going first to use reusable products!

They wrote something!

What was that?

It was - a leaf signature!

It is the signature that I will use reusable products!

With them, we can make a nice tree!

Let's use tumbler all together and save our environment!

Now, let's go to second campaign!

The second campaign is~

Even the name is so cute!

'Please! Have a Healthy Table!'

and because of the carbon of vessel and airplane which carry food,

the global warming is accelerated.

The way to protect our health and environment is

using 'local food'!

We chose one local food.

It was lettuce!

It is most popular vegetable that we need when we eat meat!

It is easy to raise, and we eat it often so we can make it as a local food!

Then it will have no food mileage! Wow~

We gathered altogether and sowed the lettuce seeds to eco-friendly paper pot.

The pot was made by used paper!

And if the paper pot get dry, it means you have to give water to it!

Also, if you want to replant it to other pot,

you can just move that with the pot, and the paper pot become fertilizer!

Then, let's go to the campaign scene together!

It is the local food that can be raised at home,

so we proceeded campaign in Bundang central park!

There are so many participants!

Everyone want to participate the local food campaign!

The adults, the children, all listened the explanation of panel

and we promoted ICLEI too.

To the 'promise tree' people put a thumb-mark with the promise

to use local food together.

Because many citizens participated, we could get a huge tree.

Children also learned about local food through this opportunity!

Little friends promised to raise the lettuce and eat it with meat!
