Introduction of Green World

This year is the 40th Earth Day. 

In order to celebrate this day, show your love to the Earth and resolve Green Action,
“the 2nd Climate Change Week” is held in all places of Korea from 19th to 25th April.

The genesis of Earth Day is credited to Gaylord Nelson, a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin. After witnessing the ravages of the 1969 Santa Barbara oil spill, and inspired by the student anti-war movement, he called for an environmental teach-in, or Earth Day, to be held on Wednesday, April 22, 1970.
Over 20 million people participated that year, and now Earth Day is observed on April 22 each year by more than 500 million people and several national governments in 175 countries.

Korea has celebrated the Earth Day every year since 1995.
Especially since 2009, a week of the Earth Day has been designated “Climate Change Week” and held an environmental event by Ministry of Environment.

Daejayon held panel exhibition on global warming and climate change in Suwon station on climate change week. Many citizens participated in with much interest.

Actually, we know nothing about climate change and global warming. Just we think “glaciers are melting so there is no ice for polar bears to live.” However, global warming is proceeding faster than our expectation.

Island countries in the South Pacific are in danger of being submerged because of sea level rise that caused by global warming.

Kiribati, Tuvalu, Fiji, Tonga, Maldives...
Most of the countries have beautiful grand sights called earthly paradise.
