A wetland is an area of very wet, muddy land with wild plants growing in it.
Wetland has a large influence on environment.
It purifies pollution, controls and prevents flood and drought, and it is a habitat for various living things.

December 1971, Ramsar Convention held in Ramsar, Iran, enacted “Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.”
The convention designated 2nd February as the “World Wetland Day.”
Korea also has been celebrating the World Wetland Day by holding a celebration ceremony at Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and Ministry of Environment since 2002.
Daejayon members visited DMZ wetland with foreign university students on the World Wetland Day.

Even though it was very cold but it was great opportunity to inform the importance of wetland and beauty to university students through visiting the DMZ Civilian Control Line which is one of the most excellent ecotourism places in Korea.

It was also a great chance to introduce excellent wetland in Korea.

It was precious time to remind the importance of conserving wetland with international university students.
