Introduction of Green World

Here is the CO2 5% DOWN Campaign by Local Agenda 21 for Gachon and Daejayon!

Commemorating the Green Film Festival, we conducted a campaign!

Before the Industrial Revolution, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was 280ppm.

However, as the use of fossil fuel has increased explosively since the Industrial Revolution,

it is increased to 380ppm now.

It is the first time for such a high figure.

Due to this, the Earth's temperature rose 0.74 degree,

which has caused environmental disasters all over the world.

Finally, the number of casualties due to the environmental disaster surpassed that of the 1st World War!

We must reduce the CO2 to 300ppm as soon as possible.

So we prepared some campaign that all citizens can participate without burden

in order to reduce 5% of CO2 emission in our daily life~!

Let's look into the campaign!!

Also, there was a face-painting section, whom kids like so much~!

Now, I will protect you!'

More convenient we are, sicker the Earth becomes.

It is essential to save energy for the Earth despite a little inconvenience!

In event hall, CO2 STOP showed a performance of singing environmental songs.

There's nothing that moves our mind more than music.

CO2 STOP planted the environment-loving heart to Gachon citizens' mind

with sweet environmental songs they composed by themselves.

This is all about the campaign!!

 Let's reduce just 5% of CO2 all together!!

How to Reduce CO2 5% through Green Purchase!

First, rethink whether you really need the product before purchasing it.

Production spends lots of resources and costs such as raw materials and energy.

Thus, we can reduce resources and energy waste by not purchasing useless products.

Second, buy the products made of raw materials which are collected with the least ecology destruction.

Once the forest is destructed, the original rich ecosystem disappears.

As we can't prohibit material-collecting, we should choose the products that don't damage the nature.

Third, purchase recycled products.

Garbage separation isn't necessarily connected to recycling.

When the separated wastes are made into new products, we can call it 'recycling'.

When consumers buy the recycled products,

their output increases and more various recycled products might be produced.

On the other hand,

if we avoid the recycled products,

it becomes hard to reuse the collected waste that we separated. Our effort becomes meaningless.

Let's lead energy saving by choosing the recycled products, even though they are a little expensive and inconvenient!
