Introduction of Green World

The domestic education of the KOICA NGO Volunteer Group was held

in KOICA Global Human Resources Education Center from December 2 to 5, 2022.

The volunteers that participated in the education are

40 people from the climate environment field and 40 people from the vulnerable group field.

They had time to have a better understanding of the dispatching country and job.

Also, they developed basic knowledge as a representative volunteer group of South Korea

through practical ethics and gender education.

The first day started with the admission ceremony, orientation, and vaccination.

Also, Jong-Soo YOON, Chair of the IUCN National Committee in the Rep. of Korea,

gave a lecture on Climate Environment and Development Cooperation.

In the evening, Safety Education and Using Disaster Kit class was held.

On the second day, regulation of volunteer group and gender education was held.

In the afternoon, through the lecture of the former volunteers of each country,

the volunteers had time to specify the activities for the next year.

On the third day, the volunteers discussed about their tasks

by having a meeting with the dispatching NGOs,

and asked questions about the curious parts.

Also, through the recreation activity,

the volunteers had time to understand each other

who will be dispatched to the same country.

On the last day, the entire schedule was finished

after the introduction of writing contract and report, precautions when going abroad.

The volunteers, who have completed the five days and four nights education schedule,

will be dispatched to Mongolia, Bangladesh and the Philippines.

We hope they will grow into global climate environmental leaders

by sharing Korea's excellent cases of climate crisis response

and thinking deeply on environmental problems with the citizens of each country.
