Introduction of Green World

July 20, 2012! We visited to Rambut Island!
Rambut Island is shoreline located in northwest of Java island and is called sweet home of birds!
Actually, Rambut Island plays a role as child-care institutions of seabirds.
Especially during a breeding season, from March to July, it is the most famous for many birds like stork and cormorant to inhabit.
And this Island is located near from Jakarta, so it is easy to be polluted by tourists. Therefore, only those who are permitted could visit Rambut Island.

We arrived at Rambut Island!

In Rambut Island, there is dense forest of trees, especially mangrove swamp.

Do you know why did Deajayon members visit Rambut Island?

It is to plant Mangrove!

Mangrove tree are easily found in Southeast Asia including Indonesia, Bangladesh, Island of the Caribbean Sea, India and continental United States.

Then what beneficial effect Mangrove has on environment?

Mangrove swamps are found in tropical and subtropical tidal areas. Areas where mangal occurs include estuaries and marine shorelines.
Mangrove swamps protect coastal areas from erosion, storm surge (especially during hurricanes), and tsunamis.

It is seeds of Mangrove.

We hope this Mangrove to prevent tsunami and protect environment by absorbing CO2!

In Planting Mangrove Campaign, about thirty people including Daejayon members, IGCAUS Daejayon Indonesia members, the media, education office and city hall participated.

We hope university student’s beautiful activity to spread out Indonesia and whole world!!
