[Daemyeong Middle School] Climate Change and the New Social Contract, Making Fragrant Shoes Febreze

Today we met bright and cheerful Daemyeong Little Daejayon!

I'm sorry that this is the last class of this year T.T


Let's look into the Daemyeong Little Daejayon's last environmental class of this year!




The title of today's theory lecture is

Climate Change and the New Social Contract!


Beyond the environmental problems and small actions in daily life to resolve it,

students learned about the social, political and economic problems

that the whole world must solve together for the environment.


They also learned about the global social contracts for the environment

such as Paris Agreement.



The students concentrated to the class,

although it was a little bit more difficult than usual. :)



After the theory lecture,

they themselves made the new social contract for preventing climate change!




We looked forward to the future,

while looking at the serious attitude of the students :)



After the group discussion,

each group made a presentation about their own new social contract.



Group 1

1. All shopping malls sell the least plastic bags

and let customers to bring their shopping basket.

2. To practice the local food movement which was started from England through the world.

For example, the government encourages people to buy the local food

by imposing the higher tax to the food ingredients with higher food mileage.

(As the distant ingredients emit more CO2 and are not fresh)

3. The government sets recycling center

and gives incentive of mileage to those who bring the products.


Group 2

1. The citizens of OECD countries use public transport at least once 2 weeks.

(nearer than 1km : bicycle, in-line skate, board

nearer than 5km : bus

farther than 20 stations : subway

farther than 1 hour : private car)

2. To reduce the use of diesel car

and popularize electric car.

(The government support public officers' wage of the electric car.)

3. To read an electric book rather than a paper book

and set an electric panel behind the electric book.

4. The government actively supports the development of renewable energy which is alternative to oil and coal.

5. Replace the one of two streetlights with a tree.

6. To develop more natural cosmetics

and reduce the use of chemicals.

7. To regulate the use of an air conditioner and a heater.

8. To use the highly efficient products.


Group 3

1. Developed countries provide economic support to undeveloped countries(developing countries) to reduce the environmental pollution.

2. Each person plants a tree or a plant to emit 1L of oxygen a month.

Each city makes a small park so that citizens can visit there often,

starting from the empty area and expanding to other areas as well.

3. To popularize Self Car-Free Day

4. The government encourages the green companies and support the tenth of budget.


Group 4

1. To restrict the usable amount of resources(water, electricity, etc.)

2. Developed countries support education service and infrastructure to undeveloped countries.

3. To restrict the fish catch for each season.

4. To make system encouraging citizens' bicycle use.

(to make only bicycle use bicycle lane, to increase the number of bicycle rack)

5. The government makes a policy encouraging public transport.

(to lessen economic burden, to make more bus routes and bus stops)

6. To develop renewable energy to prevent global warming


Group 5

1. To restrict the number of logging

2. UN raises fund to help the development and protection of forest of countries with jungle.



So many various and good ideas came out XD

All did a truly good job as Little Daejayon!!



The students also made a presentation confidently! XD



The next part of the class was

experience activity, making fragrant shoes febreze :D


The shoes febreze is so useful,

as it not only smells good

but also is antibacterial!


For the students who are under stress with studying,

we made the febreze with niche perfume and lavender oil

which are good for relieving stress!




It is very easy to make!

Measure aroma life base, niche perfume and lavender oil.

Then mix them!




The students were measuring the liquid carefully.

How cute XD





Lastly, they attached a cute Jayonee sticker!




Tada!!!!



Excellent work for a year,

cheerful and bright Daemyeong Little Daejayon XD



We hope you made a step forward toward the future enviornmentalists through this class.
