PRODUCING LITTLE DAEJAYON

It is late autumn that the chilly wind blows in our faces.

It is the season we feel sorry for falling leaves,

but today we feel even sorrier

that today is the last day of 2015 Daemyeong Little Daejayon. :(

Today, the students watched a documentary .

> is a documentary about people in sinking islands: Tuvalu and Kiribati.

So far we have studied how serious the global warming and the environmental problems are

and some real cases.

And today, as the last class,

we focused on the painful life of climate refugees suffering with the global warming.

As the sea-level rises due to global warming,

people in Tuvalu and Kiribati can't sleep on a calm conscience.

It is because they might die due to rising sea water while sleeping.

It is not rare at all

to send their children overseas

in order to let them grow in safe environment.

We go overseas to study,

but they go overseas to survive.

It is them

who are hurt by developed countries' thoughtless greenhouse gas emission and environmental destruction,

although they have done nothing.

Thus, we must try to slow down the global warming

without forgetting this situation.

After watching the environmental documentary,

the students wrote in response to it and shared their thought together.

The student who wrote the best report received a gift.

Then, the students made a model of endangered animals: an elephant, a rhinoceros and a bear.

They stack up corrugated cardboard to make the animal model.

It needs concentration and caution!

If not be piled in order,

the animal model doesn't look in proper shape.

It is not as easy as you think. ;)

While making the animal model with concentration,

the students graved the endangered animals in their hearts.

Through the activity,

they could realize that they must protect the species being endangered by climate change.
