PRODUCING LITTLE DAEJAYON

Every year around this time, Little Daejayon students do this campaign. 

It is a river clean-up campaign near the school. We made EM mud ball by ourselves and throw it to the river. This time, we went to North Seoul Dream Forest with the Miyang high school students to make a clean-up campaign.

North Seoul Dream Forest is an ecological park at Gangbuk-gu, so Seoul and local citizens can feel the nature at the center of city in this resting place.

It is so cute for them to watch the same place.

With Miyang high school students, we started river clean-up campaign to protect water at North Seoul Dream Forest where we could feel the nature.

Each of us had the mud balls we made. Do you see? The balls became white, it is with mold, yeast.

If we threw the mud ball, water would be purified and sludge would be decomposed.
*sludge: dirty soil, especially mud with pollutant

It looks really fun to be with the students in nature, purifying the water as we’re playing together.

We also threw water-hyacinth we brought to the puddles to purify water.

Water-hyacinth gains the nutrition from the water and discharge waste doing great job to the maintenance and change of the water environment. To adapt to the water environment, these aquatic lives absorb ionic or toxic material for energy or store in its body. So, it purifies water. Also, they photosynthesize providing oxygen to the water helping other lives.

Also, they help aquatic animals in many ways maintaining aquatic ecosystem healthy and purifying aquatic environment. In the picture, the teacher looked much more fun than the student. She must be really happy purifying water.

In our busy life, we have such a nice resting place. Here is harmony between nature and human. Our eyes rested with green in the pleasant day.

True environmental class is to be in nature.
Not just piling theoretic knowledge in the class, Little Daejayons’ effort and will to practice even a small thing shine them more bright.
