PRODUCING LITTLE DAEJAYON

The environmental education at Bakmun Girls' High School was conducted

under the theme 'Climate Change and Upcycling.'

Nowadays, upcycling which makes a higher value of a product is a trend then recycling.

First we had an upcycling class using milk cartoons.

The milk cartoons are usually thrown away,

but through upcycling, students made their own card holders.

The students enjoyed the activity as it has nice design and easy to make!

👛The card holder can be used for touch pay and has enough space.

Some students put their cards and coins in the card holder and used it right away! :)

Next activity was upcycling leather card holder!

"Tigers die and leave their skins: People die and leave their wastes."

People leave their names

but it is not an exaggeration to say that they leave waste on the earth.

Every year 3.8 billion animals, half of the world's population, are slaughtered for leather,

and 4,000 liters of water are used.😢

Only 13% of the 170,000 tons of waste produced in the process of making leather is recycled.

So, we made an upcycling card holder using spare leather!

The leather transformed into their own card holder by painting on it.

Fancy brushstrokes after deep thoughts!

Students made an eco-friendly upcycling card holder

by designing and painting it all by themselves! 😄

The card holder is complete! It looks like it can be well used in daily life.

After the experience activity,

theoretical class on 'Climate Change and Scientific Understanding' was conducted.

There were some parts students already knew,

and they listened carefully at the unfamiliar parts.

It was a time to know about the various organizations

and their activities for climate change response.
