GET YOUR NET ZERO FUTURE!

The opening ceremony of the 3rd Climate Environmental Leader Training Course was hosted.

To become a Climate Environmental Leader,

100 university students from 65 univercities gathered!

Students across the country gathered at the Peace Museum

of the 8th UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon

 Opening Ceremony

: Opening Remark, OT, Special Lecture

Throught the opening remark,

Secretary General Ban Ki-moon encouraged the students and gave courage.

“The first step is always the hardest”

I means that it is always hard to start.

You have made a difficult start to take a step forward in responding to climate crisis

instead of living a convenient and comfortable life.

I want to compliment everyone and all of you did a great job.

Now, you are going to dream of something that no one else has dared to think of,

or think about something that no one else can think of as deeply as you do

through the Climate Environmental Leader Training Course.

And you will have the experience of courageously trying something

that no one around you it trying.

I hope everyone will continue to move forward even if it is hard.

Next, we had an orientation of the training course.

Let's look through the reviews of the 2nd Climate Environmental Leaders.

I gained a lot more than any other extra curricular activities I have ever participated in.

I sincerely hope many students participate.

Lim So-yeon

There will be a lot of difficulties getting feedback while making a proposal presentation.

But! If you countinue to do what you want to do,

there is no doubt that it will be a chance to grow.

Everyone, you can do it!

Lee Min-ju

Even if it feels like it is too much, if you think fiercely, you will come up with a great idea!

Kwon Yong-wook

You are the future of our country

Park Ki-hoon

Above is the message of Lee Jae-hyun, 2nd Climate Environmental Leader,

showing the core message of the training course.

I found out what it is like to take action directly,

beyond the interest in environmental issues.

In particular, I was able to think about what I can contribute as a university student

while carrying out the promotion activities of CELders.

After having interest in environmental issues, I had skepticism and helplessness thinking

"What can an individual or a small group make change?"

As a Climate Environmental Leader, I met passionate university students

and was convinced that small actions can make a big difference.

Lee Jae-hyun

There is a nickname to each generation of the Climate Environmental Leader Training Course.

1st was "First Penguin,"

2nd, "Turning Point,"

and 3rd can be named "Trend-setter."

A trend setter is someone who leads the future by finding trend in daily life.

Let's find out the two keywords of the Climate Environmental Leader trend 2023.

First keyword is "Cherry-sumers."

Cherry-sumer is someone who cherry pick their consumption and make the best of value.

It is consumers who buys only the products and services they need without overspending.

Recently, the Millennials and Gen Z divides the delivery fee through the delivery application

and uses a reusable dishcloth instead of wet wipes.

It is a consumption trend that fits the Climate Environmental Leaders who prevents the waste of resources.

Second keyword is "Digging Momentum."

It is an expression that refers to digging into something deeply.

Diggers feel a sense of accomplishment and happiness by being obssed in something.

The digging momentum of Climate Environmental Leaders

who dig into the environment and find self-identity and satisfaction

will eventually lead to acheive net zero.

We looked through the trends the 3rd Climate Environmental Leaders, trend-setters,

should lead in the future. We look forward to their future activities.

Everyone please participate actively so that it will be time without reget!

After the special lecture,

all the teams had time to take a commemorative photo

 REVIEW

First, I was able to adapt well

because the part where the host briefly explained various quizzes and the activities was fun,

and I was able to know the overall concept of the activity.

The atmosphere was also pleasantly formed,

so I could participate in the opening ceremony

with a pleasant mind rather than taking it seriously.

And it was an honor to hear

the speech of Secretary General Ban Ki-moon right in front of me,

and I also think raising awareness of climate crisis

and the executive ability of citizens and government are important,

and I want to contribute to various activities that I can inform about the environment

as a university student environment leader.

Kim Byeol-do-ri

The program was fun and I was impressed by the way

Secretary General Ban Ki-moon changed the world with great passion

even though he became the UN Secretary General more than the age of 60.

I could learn a lot from the answers of Kim Sook, former Korean Ambassador to the UN,

and Professor Jung Tae-yong, because I could feel the professionalism and sincerity.

Jeong Ye-jin
