Under the slogan Now is the Time to Change for the Future
the forum was held with the participation of 2,000 university students
from 24 countries around the world.

Although the language, culture and time is different,
university students gathered together with one goal, carbon neutrality.



[Session 1  Opening Ceremony]

Starting with the opening remark of the President of DAEJAYON,
many distinguished guests sent messages to congratulate the forum
and encouraged and supported the environmental activities of the future generations
through the video congratulatory message.

Ambassador of the Gabonese Republic to the Republic of Korea

H.E. Federico Failla,
Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Korea



H.E. Pekka Metso,
Ambassador of Finland to the Republic of Korea



Next, we had a celebratory performace by De O,
an ensemble & video crossover team consisted of sutdents at Ewha Womans University.
They played "CANON in D" by Pachelbel and environmental song of DAEJAYON "Like a Mirage"
that warns the seriousness of rapid desertification
with traditional Korean instrument Gayageum and Daegeum and western instrument violin.







[Session 2  Special Lecture of Expert]


Bo Kyun SHIM, Head of United Nations Project Office on Governance (UNPOG),
gave a lecture on "The roles of governemnt private sector, and citizens
to achieve carbon neutrality for sustainable development."
He introduced the relation between the UN SDGs and carbon neutrality
and emphasized the role of university students to achieve those goals.



Hyun Sik CHOI, Secretary President of Korea Sustainable Campus Association,
gave a lecture on "A step of university students toward carbon neutral university."
He presented the direction and vision of carbon neutral universities
through the trend of carbon neutrality and the greenhouse gas reduction goals
of major universities around the world.



Julian Quintart, an Entertainer, gave a lecture on "The most powerful thing you can do."
He proposed a vegetarian habit that anyone can easily practice
referring to the problems of greenhouse gas emissions from meat production.


After the special lecture, participants had a more in-depth discussion
through the QnA with experts



[Session 3  Excellent Case Presentation]

University student environmental activists opend the third session
with an online performance urging for action to respond to climate crisis.

South Korean and foreign university student representatives
expressed that the time to change the world is now, and we must take action now
through the performance, "Actions for the Future."

The university stduents that participated through
Zoom shouted the slogans together and pledged action for climate criris.





Teams from Gabon, France, and South Korea,
which performed excellently this year among the environmental clubs worldwide,
presented creative solutions to tackle environmental problems
such as fly tipping, fast fashion, use of disposable food packaging.









[Session 4  Award Ceremony]

At the award ceremony the following teams receive the honor to award.

Grand Prize (Minister of Environment Award) - All Green (South Korea)
First Prize (IUCN Korea Committee Chairman Award) - UofT Acorns (South Korea)
Second Prize (President of DAEJAYON Award) - Haute couture (France)
Third Prize (President of DAEJAYON Award) - Pierre Omidyar English Club (Gabon)



Planet Earth, the most suitable planet for human life.
This planet is becoming a planet that humans cannot live.

University students will act together to acheive carbon neutrality
and protect our one and only planet, the Earth.

We give a big round of applause to the university student environmental activists
who practice and take action for a sustainable earth
and hope this forum has become a turning point for many people in responding climate crisis.
